General Colin Powell’s chief of staff – tyranny at America’s doorstep.

December 14th, 2011

We have the most wonderful country in the world. I love America and the incredible freedoms that our founding fathers envisioned. They provided these freedoms when they proclaimed and delivered the Declaration of Independence, The United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

These Rules of Law, unlike the lawlessness of historical tyrants and empires of the past were designed to limit the powers of government while empowering each individual as sovereign from harm by their Federal government. This meant that no matter how big government thinks it is, the Rules of Law forbids government from harming any individual apart from His or Her Constitutional protections. Each American citizen was also responsible for holding their politicians accountable to the laws that were designed to govern them, the politicians, not the citizens.

But Federal government as well as its political sycophants have become a threat to those wonderful freedoms that we have unfortunately taken for granted.

Remember, Americans can love their country and yet be distrustful, suspicious and even fearful of its government and bureaucrats that would rather rule as masters over the people instead of serving the people by preserving and defending the freedoms that are so unique to America.

Prior to WWII, the majority of the German population were oblivious to the evil plans of their politicians who eventually would end up being responsible for the deaths of millions of people’s lives from all over the world.

Had the German people been alert and watchful to the signs of the tyranny that was brewing in the darkness, they most likely would have been able to resist the deception that was being played out before their very eyes.
These sorts of infringements have happened throughout history and will continue to do so when nations ignore the safety of a compass that acts as a boundary to determine whether one is lost or on the right path.

Without a compass, America has no way of measuring what our politicians are up to. But America does have a compass and that compass is the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

When our politicians violate these laws like they have been doing for many years with impunity, then “We the People” must rid ourselves of these so-called Republican and Democratic representatives that only represent themselves and the offshore bankers that pay for their expensive homes and trips around the world.

We Americans are repeating the same scary disinterest that the German people had over 50 years ago to the pernicious plans of those who are in political power right now at this very moment.

Just last week our politicians, yes, Democrats and Republicans alike, voted into law, Sections 1031 and 1032 of the National Defense Authorization Act legislation, reminiscent of the German leadership of the 1930’s. The German leadership created laws to punished their political enemies and anyone who were willing to expose and resist their criminal and political law breaking.

The article that follows is only one example of hundreds of Constitutional and Human Rights violations that our government and politicians continue to lay out with total disregard to the Rule of Law. I would go so far as to say, these men and women in our Federal government have elevated themselves to domestic enemies of the United States of America.   ed greer

The Indefinite Detention Bill

Applies to American Citizens

on U.S. Soil

Sections 1031 and 1032 of National Defense Authorization Act

Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson – General Colin Powell’s chief of staff – says that the bill is a big step towards tyranny at home.
Congressman Ron Paul says that it will establish martial law in America.

Even at this 11th hour – when all of our liberties and freedom are about to go down the drain – many people still don’t understand that the indefinite detention bill passed by Congress allows indefinite detention of Americans on American soil.
The bill is confusing. As Wired noted on December 1st:
It’s confusing, because two different sections of the bill seem to contradict each other, but in the judgment of the University of Texas’ Robert Chesney — a nonpartisan authority on military detention — “U.S. citizens are included in the grant of detention authority.”
retired admiral, Judge Advocate General and Dean Emeritus of the University of New Hampshire School of Law also says that it applies to American citizens on American soil.
The ACLU notes:
Don’t be confused by anyone claiming that the indefinite detention legislation does not apply to American citizens. It does. There is an exemption for American citizens from the mandatory detention requirement (section 1032 of the bill), but no exemption for American citizens from the authorization to use the military to indefinitely detain people without charge or trial (section 1031 of the bill). So, the result is that, under the bill, the military has the power to indefinitely imprison American citizens, but it does not have to use its power unless ordered to do so.
But you don’t have to believe us. Instead, read what one of the bill’s sponsors, Sen. Lindsey Graham said about it on the Senate floor: “1031, the statement of authority to detain, does apply to American citizens and it designates the world as the battlefield, including the homeland.”
Another sponsor of the bill – Senator Levin – has also repeatedly said that the bill applies to American citizens on American soil, citing the Supreme Court case of Hamdi which ruled that American citizens can be treated as enemy combatants:
“The Supreme Court has recently ruled there is no bar to the United States holding one of its own citizens as an enemy combatant,” said Levin. “This is the Supreme Court speaking.“
Levin again stressed recently that the bill applies to American citizens, and said that it was president Obama who requested that it do so.
Under questioning from Rand Paul, another co-sponsor – John McCain – said that Americans suspected of terrorism could not only be indefinitely detained, but could be sent to Guantanamo:
U.S. Congressman Justin Amash states in a letter to Congress:
The Senate’s [bill] does not even distinguish between American citizens and non-citizens, or between persons caught domestically and abroad. The President’s power, in his discretion, to detain persons he determines have supported associated forces applies just as strongly to Americans seized on U.S. soil as it does to foreigners captured on a far away battlefield.
Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson – General Colin Powell’s chief of staff – says that the bill is a big step towards tyranny at home.  Congressman Ron Paul says that it will establish martial law in America.

Indeed, Amash accuses lawmakers of attempting to intentionally mislead the American people by writing a bill which appears at first glance to exclude U.S. citizens, when it actually includes us:

Pres. Obama and many Members of Congress believe the President ALREADY has the authority the bill grants him. Legally, of course, he does not. This language was inserted to keep proponents and opponents of the bill appeased, while permitting the President to assert that the improper power he has claimed all along is now in statute.
Republican and Democratic politicians are encroaching upon the Human Rights of its own citizens and violating the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights at unbelievable requentcy, using the justification that doing so is protecting the American People for the, so-called bogey-man terrorist. Please keep in mind, any citizen that the government determines as disagreeable or critical of its actions, just as President Nixon did during his presidency, can now be labeled a terrorist and subject to INDEFINATE DETENTION.

Lets be realistic, it’s our politicians who are the terrorist that we need to be afraid of.
Please everyone: vote every incumbent in office OUT OF OFFICE. And Please do not be fooled – Romney, Newt and Perry are all serial violators of the Constitution, over and over again, no matter how much they tell you otherwise.
There’s only one man running for President that can make a huge positive difference for America- he passionately respects and obeys The United States Constitution and Bill of Rights with a 100% voting record for doing so for 23 years - RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT.     ed greer
